are a really good thing! After this week of adjusting to being back at school, this weekend is welcomed with open arms!
But, my husband's phone buzzed at 6:12 this morning. He (of course) didn't even flinch. I, on the other hand, couldn't get back to sleep. Arrrrgggghhhh. So I'm embracing the quiet, although I'm sure it won't last long.
I'm headed out in just a bit to spend some time with my lovely Gram. Then onto a photoshoot. Then home to help John in the Great Irrigation Overhaul of 2011. And then, speaking of help, sneaking out with my bestie to see The Help. The Help was by and far one of my favorite books that I've read in the last couple of years, so I am going to the movie with some trepidation. Tonight we'll hang as a family. Tomorrow we'll head to church. After church we'll hop in the car and head down to Sacramento for a (surprise) family party.
I'd love to hit up Nordstrom while we are down there to find some shoes for Halle's upcoming flower girl gig, but I'll likely just order several pairs online and then return what doesn't fit. Because a quick jaunt into Nordies with my family tagging along isn't always that fun. I would go to get Halle's shoes and then, if God-forbid, I even gazed at anything else, John would remind me that we came to get Halle's shoes. Period. Sometimes being purpose-driven is great. Other times? Not so great!
Anyway, the long and short of it? Helllllloooooooo weekend!
But before I go, remember that finishing my office wall was on my Summer-To-Do list? Well, John still has to hang up my Holstee Manifesto. But I did do one more little thing. And I do mean little. Because I love my upcycled pinboard so much? I couldn't just use regular old tacks. Nope. I had to have cute tacks. I even learned how to make fabric covered buttons in the process . . .
(And yes, this is taking things a little too far. But still. Pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself! Although a different container to hold them in might be a nice thought too. The shot glass is a smidgeon tacky.)
