we had a very successful FUNraiser yesterday. We raised over $5K by hosting a simple, old-fashioned ice cream social. About 200 people participated and for a busy Sunday afternoon in Chico? It was a fantastic turn-out!
We manned the bubble-machine and had a grand time. I was a little bit on the outskirts of the event and I was able to watch and think about our community over the course of the day. I thought a lot about our village. Over and over? I was blessed by the amazing people that came together and supported one of our own.
I was even more blessed by the people who gave, not even knowing the Harrington family, via my Facebook wall. So on behalf of their family? Thank you. From the bottom of my/their heart!
I love. And I do mean LOVE! That in this day and age, where scams are prevalent and scepticism can sometimes prevail? That people still give. They give generously. They give faithfully. They give with their hearts. And if fills my heart with hope and love and thanksgiving. So again, thank you.
And if you didn't give, but still want to? Give to this amazing family. Please. They are good people. Faithful. Loving. Kind. True. Joyful. They are the real deal. Fighting the fight of their lives. So let's keep giving and showing them that we still remember that our family is big. And our family is strong.
