just are not long enough to fit it all in people. This former teacher is craving a summer break . . . too bad my current (as in, for the last 12 years) schedule doesn't incorporate two months off in the summer!
So to briefly re-cap . . .
On Friday, I drank mimosas with girlfriends and laughed my butt off for most of the morning. This picture is the only result that I have of that event and it's not even of me:
The photoshopping, however, is all mine! That is my friend who woke up her entire family to watch the Royal wedding (beginning at 2:00 am). So we simply had put her into the picture, you know?
I managed to run an errand, get my child home, sit in the hot tub and do very, very little for the remainder of the day. Whoops. We rounded out Friday by taking advantage of a Parents-Night-Out offered by our church (love me some BPC!) and enjoyed way too much food (and a couple of drinks) at Tres Hombres.
Saturday morning I got to sleep in until 8:00 am. Whoot! Whoot! Then I did something (although I don't recall what it was, so it likely wasn't very useful), we took Dylan for a haircut, went to an Open House and then I went and whooped it up with some girlfriends. Tough times, huh? We celebrated my friend Shannon's 40th birthday and it involved decorated bikes, bocce ball, lemon drops, custom tee shirts, fun and laughter. And no injuries (possibly, the most important thing). A couple of pics from that shindig:
When I got home, we watched Meet the Parents, which is always hilarious. We let Dylan watch it, so now he's totally on a kick to watch Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers, neither of which are available via Netflix streaming and one of which (LF) we haven't seen yet. Being that we are such good parents (ha!), we should probably at least pre-screen that one, right? Although we love Redbox, there are times that I miss having an actual video store to rent from. And I never plan ahead well with Netflix.
Anyway . . . on Sunday, the kids and I got out of John's way while he tackled a plumbing issue. It's always better to get the kids out of earshot before Daddy gets under the sink! We went to church and walked around downtown a bit. Then we made it home and continued to stay as far away from the kitchen as possible! Halle and I played "house" and "hair stylist". Dylan watched Lord of the Rings. Halle rode her bike and we played ball and Duck, Duck, Goose . . . basically, we all had a great day enjoying the sunshine. All of us except John. (Please note that I would have just called the plumber and been done with it. Spending that much time under the sink isn't good for anyone's weekend or mood!)
I also spent some time (finally) putting together the photos from the Middle School Social a couple of weeks back and getting those ordered. I actually kind of forgot about them. Whoops! This was Halle's moment of fame, when she got to go to the dance, in her pajamas and Tangled hair:

Isn't Dylan so cute with her? I would have thought he'd be embarrassed that she was there (for less than 10 minutes, but still ... ). He loves her dearly and is so incredibly tolerant of her!
This morning we kicked off the week by riding bikes to school. The 6th Graders have a bicycling field trip later this week, so they keep their bikes there and use them during PE. Needless to say, between this morning and Saturday's ride? I am in awe of everyone who rode the Wildflower yesterday. My lady-parts would fall off if I was on a bike for that long!
Now, Monday beckons. I must answer.
